There are three sections within tides and weather which will give you the tools you need to forecast high water levels in the St Denys and West Itchen area…

• Tide  Information – how the water level in the tidal part of the River Itchen changes with the varying tides and sources of tidal information – both for the future and what is happening today. This section includes a guide to How to Read a Tide Table like the one issued by the Port of Southampton.
• Weather information – how the weather can increase the water levels in the River Itchen above those predicted from the Tide Tables. Sources of weather information for the next week, the next day, and the next few hours
• Forecasting tips – how to make your own forecast of abnormally high river levels and not get wet feet!
