On the 10th March 2008, a storm surge associated with an area of low pressure resulted in some of the highest water levels recorded for Southampton. For a short period there was partial flooding of roads near Priory Road Hard and at Woodmill. The photos below show the scene in Riverside Park during the event, together with what the same area looks like in 2013. There is also a photograph of Pettinger Gardens “then” and “now”.
