Flood Alert: Saturday 19th February 2022

The Environment Agency issued this updated Flood Alert for Saturday afternoon’s Tide which is expected to reach 5.14m total water level.

“Flood Alert in force: Southampton Water and Hamble: 

Flooding is possible for: Coast around Southampton Water including Calshot, Lepe and the Hamble Estuary.    Be prepared.

Saturday afternoon’s tide at 12:32 on 19/02/2022 and 14:33 on 19/02/2022 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.54 m. The total forecast tide is 5.14 metres Chart Datum (2.40 mAOD) at Southampton. For 1 hour either side of high water, very minor impact flooding will affect; the lower floor level of Eling Tide Mill, and boat yards at Bursledon. Road and car park flooding will occur at The Quay (Hamble), Rising Sun Pub (Warsash), Magazine Lane at Marchwood, and Shore Road and Promenade, Hythe. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid parking in low lying coastal car parks and plan driving routes to avoid the roads listed in this message.”
