Flood Alert: 14th-15th Nov. 2020

The following Flood Alert was issued by the Environment Agency at 1505 on 14th November 2020. The total forecast tide height is 5.14m:

Flooding is possible for: Coast around Southampton Water including Calshot, Lepe and the Hamble Estuary.    Be prepared.

Saturday evening’s tide at 22:02 on 14/11/2020 and 00:10 on 15/11/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with South Westerly Force 4 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.33 m. The total forecast tide is 5.14 metres Chart Datum (2.4 mAOD) at Southampton. For 1 hour either side of high water, minor impact flooding could affect the lower floor of Eling Tide Mill. Road and car park flooding is expected at Ashlett Creek, Shore Road (Hythe), Magazine Lane (Marchwood) and boat yards at Bursledon. At 10:26 on Sunday 15/11/2020‚ tide levels will be higher. We’ll issue further advice later on today. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid the roads listed above. We will update this message by 19:00 on Saturday 14/11/2020.
