The Environment Agency issued the following flood alert update at 1545 on Wednesday 11th March. It warns of elevated tidal levels tomorrow, Thursday 12th March, but not as high as today’s tide.

Flood Alert in force: Southampton Water and Hamble.
Flooding is possible for: Coast around Southampton Water including Calshot, Lepe and the Hamble Estuary. Be prepared.
Thursday’s early morning tide at 00:21 and 02:39 on 12/03/2020 remains elevated, and forecast at 5.10 metres Chart Datum (2.36 mAOD) at Southampton. Thursday afternoon’s tide at 12:36 and 14:54 on 12/03/2020 is forecast at 5.15 metres Chart Datum (2.41 mAOD), with Westerly Force 6 winds. Both tides are lower than recorded earlier today, but for 1 hour either side of high water, may cause minor impact flooding affecting the lower floor level of Eling Tide Mill and boat yards at Bursledon. Road and car park flooding will occur at Hamble, Warsash, Magazine Lane Marchwood, Shore Road and Promenade, Hythe. After tomorrow, no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid parking in low lying coastal car parks and plan driving routes to avoid the roads listed above.
