The Environment Agency issued the following Flood Alert update at 1625 on Tuesday 26th November 2019:
Southampton water and Hamble: Flooding is possible – be prepared
Wednesday morning’s tide at 10:56 on 27/11/2019 and 12:53 on 27/11/2019 is higher than normal due to ex Storm Sebastien which brings strong South Westerly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.47m. The total forecast tide is 5.27 metres Chart Datum …at Southampton. Please note that the tide is very high. For 1 hour either side of high water, tidal flooding will affect; the lower floor of Eling Tide Mill and Eling Lane. Boat yards at Bursledon and roads and car parks at Woodmill Lane, the Quay and Ropewalk Hamble, Rising Sun Pub Warsash, Magazine Lane Marchwood, Promenade and Shore Road at Hythe. Water will come very close to property at Testwood and, any property on the immediate water front. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. We will remove this message by 16:00 on 27/11/2019.
