The Environment Agency issued the following at 1635 on 1st November:
Flood Alert in force: Southampton Water and Hamble.
Flooding is possible for: Coast around Southampton Water including Calshot, Lepe and the Hamble Estuary.
Saturday afternoon’s tide at 14:03 on 02/11/2019 and 15:58 on 02/11/2019 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather, with Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.6 m. The total forecast tide is 5.04 metres Chart Datum (2.30 mAOD) at Southampton. The tide may come in slightly higher than forecast, with impacts similar to those experienced at the end of September 2019. For 1 hour either side of high water, minor impact flooding will affect Eling Tide Mill, and boat yards at Bursledon. Road and car park flooding will occur at The Quay Hamble, Rising Sun Pub Warsash, Magazine Lane at Marchwood, Shore Road and Promenade Hythe. At Testwood, the tide could come close to property situated nearest the estuary. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Priory Road, residents may wish to install flood protection 1 hour before high tide.
