The Environment Agency issued the following at 1813 on 30th September:
Flood Alert in force: Southampton Water and Hamble.
Flooding is possible for: Coast around Southampton Water including Calshot, Lepe and the Hamble Estuary.
Tuesday afternoon’s tide at 13:18 on 01/10/2019 and 15:44 on 01/10/2019 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 5 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.28 m (surge). The forecast tide is 5.14 metres Chart Datum (2.40 mAOD) at Southampton. In magnitude, levels will be very similar to those recorded at lunchtime today. For 1 hour either side of high water, minor flooding to; the lower floor level of Eling Tide Mill, boat yards at Bursledon Road, car parks at The Quay, Hamble and Rising Sun Pub Warsash and Magazine Lane, Marchwood is expected. At Testwood the tide will come close to property nearest the estuary. After this tide‚ the weather becomes more settled and no further impacts are expected along the south coast. At Priory Road, residents may wish to install flood protection as a very precautionary measure. We continue to monitor forecasts. We will remove this message by 18:00 on 01/10/2019
